Vinyl acetate is the main monomer of emulsion polymerization, also known as vinyl acetate, referred to as VAc, structural formula, relative molecular weight of 86.1, colorless flammable liquid, volatile, harmful to the central nervous system, while stimulating the mucous membrane and cause tears.

Used in the production of polyvinyl alcohol, coatings and adhesives

Vinyl acetate is the main raw material of synthetic fiber vinylon. Through self-polymerization or copolymerization with constituent monomers, vinyl alcohol, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVC), ethylene-acrylonitrile fiber, ethylene-acrylate copolymer are obtained, which have important industrial applications. Widely used as binder, architectural coating, textile sizing agent and finishing agent, paper strengthening agent, and used in the manufacture of safety glass, etc. Bromoacetaldehyde diethyl alcohol was prepared by the reaction of vinyl acetate with ethanol and bromine. This is the intermediate of the drug methiimidazole.

It is used in resin fiber synthesis, as intermediate and binder of oil depressant and thickener
