Formic acid is used in textile printing and dyeing as dye reducing agent, dyeing aid, fabric finishing agent, stain remover, etc. The application in textile printing and dyeing is shown as follows:


1,formic acid can improve the textile dyeing effect, so that the dye is more easily dissolved in the fiber. At the same time, it can also regulate the pH, improve the degree of fixation and color fastness of dyes, to ensure that the textile color is bright and not easy to fade.


2,Used as dyeing auxiliaries for acid dyes, neutral complexing dyes and dyeing auxiliaries for nylon dyeing, which helps to enhance the solubility and permeability of dyes, making it easier for dyes to be evenly distributed on fibers and improving dyeing effect and color fastness. Formic acid does not remain on the fabric during the dyeing and printing process, is more acidic than acetic acid, and can reduce chromium VI, so it can improve the utilization of dyes in chromium mordant dyeing process. Use formic acid instead of sulfuric acid can avoid cellulose degradation, and moderate acidity, dyeing are Xi, so it is an excellent dyeing agent.


3,It can improve the softness and glossiness of the fiber, make the fabric softer and smoother, and improve the overall quality of the fabric.


4,formic acid also has the function of stain removal, in the pre-treatment stage of printing and dyeing, can help to remove the stains on the fabric and the surface of the fiber, to ensure that the printing and dyeing process goes smoothly, so that the textile is cleaner and neater.


5,for the cotton pretreatment, mercerization and washing effect is manifested as follows: neutralization of sodium hydroxide, high efficiency of use per unit weight; compared with 99% acetic acid, 85% formic acid dosage can be reduced by 15%; compared with 60% acetic acid, 85% formic acid dosage can be reduced by 50%; with precise pH adjustment; can be quickly and uniformly penetrated into the fibers.
